We were commissioned to act in the Tel Aviv Museum square. We brought 1.8 tons of cardboard and turned it into houses. A house in its familiar, intuitive and basic form. We imagined a city that is being created out of the existence of a democratic public space and of the relation between the individual to that space and the relationships that arise within this.
The city buildings are slowly revealed, emerging from the audience, a mass of 50 houses, carried by 100 people, congregating in a choreography of an urban happening. The cardboard polis forms, changes and dissipates - a beat in space and time.
The work was first performed at the Tel Aviv year opening event, March 2012.

נקראנו לפעול בכיכר מוזיאון תל אביב. הזמנו משאית עם 1.8 טון של קרטון אותם הפכנו ל-50 בתים. בית בצורתו הבסיסית, האינטואיטבית והמוכרת. דימיינו שבעזרת הבתים האלה נוכל ליצור אפשרות של עיר אחרת, כזו השונה מהנטייה הרווחת כיום לפרק את העיר למתחמים סגורים, נעדרי האפשרות להיווצרות של קהילה.
בתי העיר נגלים לקהל אט אט, נישאים על גבי מאה אנשים ומתקבצים לכוריאוגרפיה של התרחשות עירונית. רצינו לחגוג את הרחוב ואת המרחב הציבורי. נתנו לקהל להיות חלק מהעיר הזאת ולהרגיש את המרחב שהשתנה סביבו במהלך הערב בכיכר. עיר הקרטון נבנית ומייצרת רחובות צפופים, סמטאות חשוכות, ככרות ושדרה ארוכה, היא משתנה ונערמת ומתפוגגת כפעימה במרחב.
